Nostalgia value is totally subjective.

-- I know nostalgic value is subjective. I said they were my favorite features of each game, didn't I?

I wonder how a game that's 10 years old could be considered to have low Nostalgia value, though, unless it was bought used recently. Well, actually, I did play Castlevania after Castlevania 3, so 3 has more nostalgic value to me. In fact, probably the thing I like most about Castlevania is that it reminds me of Castlevania 3.

-- I played the NES Castlevania games in the order in which they were released. As I said, Castlevania made me a gamer. It was one of the first games I was exposed to (besides Donkey Kong, Dig Dug, Pacman, SMB, and Duck Hunt), and it was definitely the first game I fell in love with. By the time Castlevania 3 came, I was already a "gamer". It just doesn't have the feel that my first games have. Nostalgia isn't a direst result of time. It's memories applied to something. Castlevania 3 has no memories attached to it for me, besides that it's great game that I have always enjoyed. Heh, well, I do have memories of my brother swearing a lot when he was playing it.

And I also don't think Castlevania 4 has the best non-RPG soundtrack - IMO, SotN's is many times better, and, IMHO, the best soundtrack ever, RPG or not.

-- I haven't played SotN yet! Maybe my opinion will change when I do, but I'll just have to wait and see. BTW, since we're on the subject, what is on SotN's soundtrack? Is it all new material, remixes of the classic tracks, or both?
