I think FF4 has more replay value than FF1 because it takes less time to finish, so I can replay it more times. I did like FF1, however.
I don't think SaGa Frontier was nearly as bad as people make it out to be either. A lot of people complain that it's nonlinear, but everyone that I've heard that complaint from says FF6 is the best game ever, so why don't they complain that FF6 is nonlinear? Makes no sense. Also, I thought the music in SaGa Frontier was very good. I, however, do not like monsters in the SaGa games. I don't like not gaining strength through fights, or the possiblity of becoming much weaker after eating the wrong enemy. Yeah, it makes it harder, but it's at the expense of fun. Really, though, I think action games are the best source for challenging games. Nothing beat R-Type.
