Were the new lines in Super Castlevania 2 mostly for humour, or did some actually function as useful clues that could be used to beat the game?

I've noticed on the internet that people always comment on the Simon's Quest line, "GET THE SILK BAG FROM THE GRAVEYARD DUCK TO LIVE LONGER" and ask, "What's a graveyard duck?" Well, I've never read it that way. If you look at the dialogue box, there's a line break after GRAVEYARD, so I always read it as, "Get the silk bag from the graveyard; Duck to live longer." Obviously, the first sentence is true, and the second sentence could be interpreted as a "cryptic" clue to duck at the cliff. There may be missing puncutation for my reading, but I figured that could either be a mistake or be due to the lack of the proper punctuation character (like a semicolon - however, I know that the NES has built in characters, so it was extra nice that Castlevania 3 used its own font!)

I LOOOOOOVE Flying Omelette!
