After the so-so release of Quarterback club 98, I was hoping this years release would improve. I got my wish as QB Club 99 smashed my expectations and shocked me with graphics that were though to be never possible on a home console. The game is literally in 800 by 600. However, graphics dont make a game alone and that is where QB Club 99 falls a tiny bit short. AI is greatly improved but still doesnt add up to Madden. The playbooks have been redone and that's a good thing! Controls are where...

Not a good review, particularly because of the lack of content about the story and the music.

Graphics
I won't say that Secret of Mana is one of the best looking games on the SNES... but it is very good in the graphics department.
"Phantasy Star 2 has a reputation for being a very good RPG. It is not.

To me, the most important aspect of an RPG is the story, and dungeons are just something to fill the time between scenes that advance the plot. PS2's designers apparently had the opposite idea: 50+ hours of dungeon crawling and experience building and a plot that can be transcribed on three pages of text. The story did have the potential to be engaging, but the tedium of dungeon crawling and the rather dull and...

First off, I had no idea the game was made by Rare, I know Tradewest made it, but Rare (later extended the name to Rareware) made this? Wow. I was a little kid and I wasn't paying attention. It doesn't matter, as this would soon trigger Rare's insane popularity.

But I gave it a 7, not because they are Ninja Turtle rip-offs (Which I never considered anyway), but because of the very intolerable difficulty. How detailed can you be with Arkanoid?

Graphics
Arkanoid is certainly not a visually impressive game, and it really doesn't matter considering the type of gameplay.

Each level consists of your "ship" (which is basically a paddle) at the bottom of the screen, and the various blocks that need to be destroyed to advance to the next level placed...

Unbreakable is a tribute: I feel it was made by a person who feels very passionately about something, and wants the viewer to understand that passion. The urgency in this is that the viewer probably does NOT understant that passion, because comic books are the source of the passion. As I feel very passionately about videogames, and deeply believe they can achieve levels of great artistic accomplishment, I identified with much of this movie.
It was bound to happen, I guess. Someone emailed me to "let me know" how much better PS2 in on the Genesis. I have two problems with that comment. First of all, the Smash Pack version is EMULATED. Granted, not emulated perfectly, but the gameplay is exactly the same, as is the story and graphics. The only thing that was emulated poorly was the sound, and I don't see how that could possibly make enough of a difference to make the game go from horrible to great.
